A lot of people are asking, "What are we going to do? and How should Christians respond to the supreme courts decision to legalize gay marriage?"
Without hesitation, I looked at my friend Tommy and said, "I have way too much sin and evil in my own heart to worry about other peoples sin. Shoot. Let me work on my own evil and once it's completely gone i'll go after other people's sins...this might take a while though :)"
Christians, please listen: GAY people are NOT the enemy. YOU are more of a threat to yourself than your LGBT co-worker, neighbor or cousin. Your struggle is not with the Supreme Court, but from evil that is already in you. In fact, people in general are not the enemy, but rather victims of the enemy.
Now, my gay friends are probably thinking, Hey! Who are you calling a sinner!? You! Because you're like me and your heart too is filled with evil and offensive thoughts towards God. So yes, Gay people are sinners, just like us Church folk - Hearts filled with evil and in need of the Savior in all the days that end in the letter "y."For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places - Ephesians 6:12
So, let's all just be broken together, uproot evil in our hearts and let God kill our idolatrous tendencies, our prideful thinking and our lust of the flesh.
What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? - James 4:1
Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. - Colossians 3:5
