Mark Carpender - A Pastor's Journey

It is not common to hear candid stories of "regular" pastors. Come to find out they are just like the rest of us. Real people with struggles. Here's just one example. My friend and co-laborer in Christ, Mark Carpender. Mark takes us through his journey from Soldier in Iraq to 20 years of the Pastorate and now shepherding his family.  I'm inspired every day by Mark's humility, transparency, and erudite demeanor.

I'm currently in that spot where I ask myself frequently, "Lord, why don't you have me behind the pulpit?"  To which, I think he responds, "I'm not done getting you ready son."  Maybe I should take to heart being Pastor of my own family first...  so convicting.

I hope everyone sees that we (Pastors) should not be put on pedestals, but seen as people who are just as in need of the Savior as everyone else...because we are.
